The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) will host its 57th convocation ceremony on June 29, 2024. Over 2,300 students will graduate this year, marking a significant milestone in their academic journeys.

To ensure all graduates can participate in this momentous occasion, the convocation will be held in two sessions. The first session, held in the Main Auditorium with a 1,250 seating capacity, will honor high achievers. The second session will see individual departments confer degrees on their students across various lecture halls.
This year’s graduating class reflects IIT Kanpur‘s commitment to a multidisciplinary academic environment. Students are graduating from a wide range of programs, showcasing the institute’s diverse academic offerings.
Dress Code and Ceremony Guests
The IIT Kanpur administration recommends a formal dress code for the convocation ceremony. For the convocation ceremony, male students must wear a cream-colored kurta with white pajamas. Female students should wear a cream-colored kurta with white churidar or leggings. Formal footwear is mandatory for all attendees.
The ceremony will be graced by Professor Jayathi Y. Murthy, President of Oregon State University, USA, and an IIT Kanpur alumna, as the Chief Guest. Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, Chairperson, Board of Governors (BoG), IIT Kanpur, and Professor Manindra Agrawal, Director, IIT Kanpur, will preside over the ceremony.
