Abu Dhabi, UAE: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi is set to expand its footprint to the Middle East. The institute will commence undergraduate programs at its Abu Dhabi campus from September 2024.
IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi will offer two undergraduate programs: Computer Science Engineering and Energy Engineering. The institute plans to admit a total of 60 students to these programs.
Admission Process
Students can secure a seat in two ways:
- JEE (Advanced) 2024: The institute reserves twenty seats for students who qualify for the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2024.
- Combined Admission Entrance Test (CAET): The institute will fill the remaining 40 seats through a new entrance exam called the Combined Admission Entrance Test (CAET). This exam is open to UAE nationals and expatriates, including Indians.
IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi aims to become a hub for research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The institute is actively engaging with industry partners in the UAE and the Gulf region to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange.
The institute is also in the process of establishing a permanent campus in Abu Dhabi. Faculty recruitment for the Abu Dhabi campus will follow the same rigorous standards as the Delhi campus to maintain academic excellence.
IIT Delhi aims to cater to a wider student base through this expansion. The institute also seeks to contribute to the growth of the education and research ecosystem in the UAE.
