In Sanatan Dharma, Ekadashi holds immense importance for devotees of Lord Vishnu. Rangbhari Ekadashi, also known as Amlaki Ekadashi, observed during the Shukla Paksha of the Phalguna month, is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. This day is marked by special rituals and fasting.
Ekadashi fasting occurs twice monthly, during Krishna Paksha and Shukla Paksha. Rangbhari Ekadashi, in Phalguna, is believed to liberate devotees from sins and grant Moksha. Moreover, it commemorates Lord Shiva bringing Goddess Parvati to Kashi and applying gulal, hence the celebration.
