Jaipur Garden Murder Case Deepens As Pregnancy, Marriage Claims Conflict
A woman’s body was pulled from a freshly dug patch of garden soil in Jaipur on September 27, exposing a MURDER investigation that contains conflicting accounts about the victim’s age and relationship. Police say Kiran, reported as 32, was allegedly killed by her live-in partner, Pravesh, 22, who then buried her at the rented house in Prestige Colony, Bindayaka.
The discovery: The house had reportedly been rented about two months earlier. According to Bindayaka Station House Officer Anil Kumar, Pravesh introduced Kiran as his wife. On Sunday morning, the landlord arrived to inspect the locked property, noticed freshly disturbed soil and after checking the garden, saw a woman’s hand protruding from the ground. Police were alerted and exhumed the body with forensic assistance before sending it to Kanwatia Hospital.
Police’s preliminary assessment is that Kiran died two to three days before the body was discovered. Investigators allege Pravesh dug the pit at night, buried her and locked the house before fleeing. Police said he worked at a factory in Bindayaka and formed teams to trace him. “The motive behind the murder and other circumstances of the case are under investigation,” police said.

What emerged later
A later police-attributed account adds a significant detail absent from the first reports: Kiran was allegedly about six months pregnant. The same account says she was from Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh and that the post-mortem would be needed to establish how she died. Pregnancy has therefore been reported as an investigative fact, but it has not been independently confirmed here through a medical or post-mortem document.
The relationship itself is disputed. One police account says Pravesh presented Kiran as his wife when renting the house. A later report quoting Deputy Commissioner of Police Prashant Kiran says the pair were not a married couple and had represented themselves as one to obtain the rental property. Another local account claims they had actually married in January 2026. No marriage certificate, rental agreement or identity document has been publicly located to settle the contradiction.
Other claims require caution
Local reporting has also alleged that salt was placed over the buried body and that Pravesh continued visiting the property before disappearing. Another account says he obtained ₹500 before leaving and that a relative who helped arrange the rental was questioned. These details have not been independently established through available police records. The alleged purpose of the salt is also an inference, not a demonstrated forensic conclusion.
There is an additional age discrepancy. The police account identifies Pravesh as 22, while one later report’s introduction gives his age as 35 before quoting the station officer with the 22-year figure. The 35-year figure should therefore be treated as an apparent reporting error unless an official record shows otherwise.
What the evidence does not yet establish
The most consequential missing document is the post-mortem report. Until it is available, the precise cause and manner of Kiran’s death cannot be independently established from the reporting reviewed. The FIR, forensic findings, rental paperwork, CCTV, phone records and evidence linking Pravesh to the burial were also not publicly available in the sources reviewed.
For now, the documented sequence is narrower than the headlines suggest: a woman’s buried body was discovered at a rented Jaipur property, police suspect her partner and are searching for him, while key questions about how she died, whether the pair were legally married and what happened inside the house remain unresolved. The next decisive evidence should come from the police case file and post-mortem findings.
