Goldy Brar, the alias of Satinderjeet Singh, has been placed on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, with a reward of up to $1 million for information leading to his arrest. The September 28 designation puts a global spotlight on a fugitive whom US prosecutors accuse of helping lead the Lawrence Bishnoi organized crime group across North America. The FBI says his alleged role extends across the United States and Canada, not just India.
Why Goldy Brar is wanted
The FBI says Singh is wanted on federal charges of racketeering conspiracy, conspiracy to interfere with commerce through extortion, and conspiracy to distribute and possess controlled substances. He is considered armed and dangerous and is believed to reside in California and parts of Canada.
The charges stem from Operation Hardball, a years-long investigation announced July 7. Federal authorities said 37 defendants had been charged in three indictments involving three India-based transnational crime groups. Twenty-four defendants were arrested or already in custody when the operation was announced.
One indictment focuses on the Bishnoi enterprise. Prosecutors allege that Singh served as a senior lieutenant and helped direct members and associates internationally. The indictment also alleges that Lawrence Bishnoi and Singh ordered the 2023 killing of a prominent Indian political and religious figure in Surrey, British Columbia. Court documents identify the victim as “H.S.N.”; other official and independent records identify him as Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
The Nijjar allegation is an accusation, not a conviction. Singh has not been tried on the US charges, and the federal government explicitly states that an indictment is only an allegation.

A criminal network with international reach
The FBI alleges that the Bishnoi enterprise has been involved in targeted killings, shootings, kidnappings, extortion, assaults, weapons trafficking and narcotics trafficking. Prosecutors further allege that the organization stole about 520 kilograms of cocaine from rival trafficking groups in the greater Los Angeles area between March 2024 and July 2025.
The scale of the US case is significant. At the September 28 update, authorities said four fugitives from the original Operation Hardball group had been captured and one had been found dead. Five remained sought, including Singh.
The reward has also changed sharply. In July, the FBI had offered up to $50,000 for information leading to Singh’s arrest. The new $1 million reward is twenty times that amount.
India and Canada had already acted
Singh was not new to international law enforcement. India designated him an individual terrorist under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in January 2024. The government’s notification also records an Interpol Red Notice and a non-bailable warrant.

Canada separately designated the Bishnoi Gang a terrorist entity in September 2025 under its Criminal Code. The Canadian government said the group had targeted communities, prominent community members, businesses and cultural figures through violence, intimidation and extortion.
Those designations are separate from the US prosecution. They also do not establish guilt on every allegation contained in the American indictment.
What happens now
The FBI says Singh is the 543rd person added to its Ten Most Wanted list since the list was created in 1950. Assistant Director in Charge Patrick Grandy said the agency’s priority is to apprehend him and that his image will be widely publicized.
The FBI is asking anyone with information about Singh’s whereabouts to contact federal authorities. For investigators, the immediate objective is straightforward: locate a fugitive accused of helping run a transnational criminal enterprise and bring him before a US court, where the allegations can be tested through the judicial process.
