The Defence Secretary, Shri Giridhar Aramane, recently visited Indian Coast Guard facilities in the North West Region, inaugurating the Hovercraft Maintenance Unit (HMU) at Okha and the Coast Guard Residential Area at Inaz Village Veraval. The HMU at Okha will support hovercraft maintenance for surveillance in the Gulf of Kutch, ensuring operational readiness. The Veraval area now boasts 60 Married Accommodations, a Helipad, and living quarters for officers, enhancing operational capabilities for maritime emergencies and surveillance. These developments align with the ICG’s commitment to advanced infrastructure for maritime operations.
