The Indian cricket team, fresh off their exciting T20 World Cup victory in Barbados. Met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in New Delhi today. The team, led by captain Rohit Sharma, was welcomed by hundreds of enthusiastic fans at the Indira Gandhi International Airport after a 16-hour flight from Bridgetown.

  • Hurricane Beryl delayed the team’s return by three days. But they touched down safely on a special Air India charter flight (AIC24WC).
  • Hundreds of fans, brimming with national pride, awaited the team’s arrival. Placards, chants, and the tricolor created an electric atmosphere.
  • After their warm reception at the airport, the squad will head to 7, Lok Kalyan Marg to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
  • Following their meeting with PM Modi, the celebrations shift to Mumbai. The team will participate in a victory parade with an open-top bus, showcasing the coveted trophy to the city’s cheering fans.

This marks India’s fourth T20 World Cup title, solidifying their dominance in the shortest format. Their previous victories came in 2007, 2014, and 2021. The team secured their latest championship with a nail-biting seven-run win against South Africa in the finals. On June 29th at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.
