The Government of India relies on its top public policy advisor Niti Aayog to drive the country’s economic development. This premier think tank works closely with the Prime Minister, who is the chairman of the organization.

NITI Aayog is currently led by Vice Chairman Suman Berry. To ensure an all-round approach, key government ministers also hold positions within the organization. These include the Home Minister, Defense Minister, Finance Minister, and Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister.

NITI Aayog brings together leading minds from diverse backgrounds to formulate effective economic policies that benefit all of India.

What is the NITI Aayog Internship?

This internship provides a unique opportunity to work with NITI Aayog’s expert teams on important national issues. Trainees gain valuable hands-on experience tackling economics, social welfare, infrastructure, and other challenges in various divisions.

The internship provides selected candidates with a brief but intensive experience of working in various departments of NITI Aayog.

Young, talented students gain practical knowledge of government functions and policy development, while NITI Aayog benefits from fresh perspectives and contributions such as research analysis and policy reports.

Trainees learn about government operations and the challenges of formulating development policies in India. Trainees actively participate in the policy-making process by providing research data, briefing reports, and policy papers.

Who can apply?

NITI Aayog seeks talented students for its internship program

  • University Students: Be enrolled in a recognized university in India or abroad.
  • Undergraduates: Have completed their second year (4th semester) and have scored at least 85% marks in their 12th class examination.
  • Graduate: Be in their first year (2nd semester) of a postgraduate program, or pursuing research/PhD. You must have obtained at least 70% marks in your undergraduate degree.
  • New Graduates: waiting for admission to higher studies? You can also qualify if you have a minimum of 70% marks in aggregate in your undergraduate/postgraduate program (as of the date of application).
  • Recent Graduates: The gap between your final exam results and the internship start date cannot exceed six months.

Duration

  • At least 6 (six) weeks but not more than 6 (six) months.
  • No certificate will be issued to trainees who do not complete the required period.

New Delhi

Experience Certificate

On successful completion of the NITI Aayog Internship, Interns will receive a certificate from the mentor of the department with whom they have worked. This certificate acknowledges their participation and contribution to the program.
