Shrimad Bhagwat Katha in Bhopal: Pandit Indresh Upadhyay Narrates Govardhan Leela

On the fifth day of the ongoing Shrimad Bhagwat Katha at the Panchmukhi Shri Hanuman Durga Temple, Ayodhya Nagar, Bhopal, the narrator Pandit Indresh Upadhyay who came from Vrindavan on Wednesday narrated the story of Lord Krishna’s childhood Leelas along with the Govardhan Leela.  The pandit has a rich knowledge and style, which is presented in his signature style too, kept all engaged with the divine childhood Leelas of Lord Krishna ending up to Govardhan Leela.

Pandit Indresh Upadhyay ji was recounting all the specific details of Lord Krishna’s birth, naming ceremonies, and his divine slaying of demons Kansa to Putna as if he really took us along with him into the celestial realm Vrindavan. The description of the escapades during which butter had been stolen was exciting and heightened their zeal.

Devotees Danced During Bhajans

During the story, the devotees kept dancing to the Bhajans for a long time. He said that Indra had become proud of his power and strength. To remove his pride, God stopped the worship of Indra in Braj Mandal and started the worship of Govardhan. Angered by this, Indra caused heavy rains in Braj Mandal. To save people from the flood, God lifted the Govardhan mountain on his little finger. After seven days, Indra realized his mistake.

On this occasion, Govardhan Leela was also decorated. During the story, the festival of Govardhan worship was celebrated with joy. During the musical story, the devotees present in the pandal kept dancing to the Bhajans.

The upcoming Katha will take place from 14th November to 20th November 2024 at Bisauli Bandau Uttar Pradesh.
