The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta) conducted the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 on November 24, 2024, for admissions to its Postgraduate Programs (PGP) for the academic session 2025-26. Alongside this, IIM Lucknow had also announced the admission criteria for its MBA programs for the 2025 intake, confirming that the selection process would remain consistent with previous years. The IIM Lucknow MBA admission process involved CAT 2024 scores, Application Rating Score (ARS), and a Personal Interview (PI).

IM Lucknow MBA Selection Process 2025: The MBA selection process for IIM Lucknow was based on three key components:

  • CAT 2024 score
  • ARS
  • PI

CAT 2024 was conducted online in three shifts, with the exam schedule as follows:

  • Shift 1: 8:30 am to 10:30 am
  • Shift 2: 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm
  • Shift 3: 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm

CAT Accepting Colleges’ Admission Process

  • Candidates appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs).  
  • This exam assesses quantitative ability, verbal ability, and reading comprehension, and data interpretation, and logical reasoning
  • Colleges shortlist candidates based on their CAT percentile, academic performance, and work experience (if any).  
  • Shortlisted candidates are often required to write an essay on a given topic within a specified time limit.  
  • This assesses their writing skills, clarity of thought, and ability to structure arguments.
  • Candidates are divided into groups to discuss a given topic.  
  • GDs evaluate a candidate’s communication skills, leadership qualities, teamwork abilities, and critical thinking.
  • The final stage involves a one-on-one interview with a panel of interviewers.
  • The PI assesses a candidate’s personality, motivation, knowledge, and fit with the program.
  • Colleges consider the CAT score, WAT, GD, PI performance, and academic background to create a final merit list.  
  • The final selection is often a weighted average of these components.
