Heavy rains have wreaked havoc in Uttarakhand, leaving 14 people dead and 10 injured. Incessant rains resulted in flooding and a house collapsed. Kedarnath Yatra had to be postponed due to dangerous conditions due to the disaster.
The Indian Air Force has joined the rescue operations with two helicopters. The state government has also deployed resources and is getting full support from the Centre. So far, more than 2,200 people have been evacuated, including 450 rescued from Munkatiya.
Pilgrims going to Kedarnath are advised to put on hold their journey till the situation improves and the roads are cleared. Mandakini and Alaknanda rivers are dangerously in spate. All district administrations have been directed to give priority to public safety and disseminate timely updates.

Uttarakhand government has issued a security alert for Chardham Yatra pilgrims. Travelers are urged to postpone their trips, stay in safe places, and follow the guidelines of local authorities. The DGP has highlighted the importance of taking breaks and following safety protocols.
The state is facing a serious situation and the focus remains on rescue, relief, and ensuring the safety of citizens and pilgrims.
