World Animal Day, which falls on October 4, every year. It is a worldwide event to support the well-being of animals. It reminds us of our duty to protect and take care of these creatures that also live with us on this planet.
- The theme for 2023: “The world is their home too”
- First Observed: March 24, 1925, to commemorate the birthday of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals.
- Organizing Body: Naturewatch Foundation, a UK-based animal welfare charity.
World Animal Day helps teach people about the importance of animal care and how human actions can harm animal populations.
It encourages everyone to be kind to animals and to support groups that work to help them.
This day also helps push for better laws and rules to protect animals.
