Good news for Paytm users! You can now change your UPI ID directly within the Paytm app. This is crucial because due to recent regulatory changes, your existing Paytm UPI ID might not be functional anymore.
- The Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) action on Paytm Payments Bank impacted their ability to offer certain services.
- One consequence is that Paytm can no longer function as a UPI issuer directly.
- As a result, users need to switch to a new UPI ID linked to their bank accounts.
How to Change Your UPI ID on Paytm
- Open the Paytm app on your phone.
- Tap on your profile picture.
- Scroll down and click on “UPI & Payment Settings.”
- You’ll see your current UPI ID at the top.
- Click “Edit” to view other available UPI IDs linked to your bank accounts.
- Choose the UPI ID you want to activate and tap “Activate.”
- Verify the change using SMS verification on your registered mobile number.
You can activate multiple UPI IDs linked to different bank accounts.
The primary UPI ID will be visible to everyone you make payments to.
If you haven’t received an automatic notification to change your UPI ID, we recommend doing it manually within the app to avoid any inconvenience while making payments.
