The Delhi government on Thursday said it has increased by 100 seats for girl students in the ‘Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vidyarthi Coaching Yojana’, also known as Chief Minister’s Super Talented Students Coaching Scheme, in a “major” decision. The announcement came from Education Minister Atishi during an interaction with the students availing free coaching for NEET and JEE under a scheme. In 2022 launched scheme integrates Free Coaching for NEET and JEE examinations to be delivered free of charge to students from Delhi government schools. 300 children of classes IX and XI are selected for this opportunity every year. Atishi said the government was determined to leave no room for high coaching fees to become an obstacle in front of children’s dreams.
She further added, “The Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had the vision that no child should go behind whether they are poor or rich and all children must be able to accomplish their dreams.” The students admitted under this scheme are regarded as role models for lakhs of young ones studying in Delhi government schools. Atishi motivated the students to follow their dreams and prove that even kids studying in public schools can make it big. But Delhi BJP spokesman Praveen Shankar Kapoor termed the announcement a “deception” and said that in 10 years, the AAP government has failed to introduce science education in all its schools. However, the Delhi government has defended its decision to raise seats under the free coaching scheme for girls
