UPSC Aspirant Found Dead, Family Blames Coaching Institute

UPSC aspirant found dead

Delhi, September 25, 2024: The body of a 21-year-old UPSC aspirant, Deepak Kumar Meena, was discovered in Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar, just ten days after he went missing. The deceased was preparing for the UPSC Mains exam from a local coaching institute.

Deepak, a native of Balin village in Rajasthan’s Dausa district, had arrived in Delhi in July to focus on his Mains preparation. He had cleared the preliminary exam through online coaching in Jaipur. According to his father, Chandulal Meena, he last spoke to Deepak on September 10 at 8:00 PM. When Deepak failed to contact his family on September 11 and 12, Chandulal became concerned. On September 13, Deepak’s phone was switched off, further intensifying his worries.

Chandulal, accompanied by villagers, traveled to Delhi to search for his son. Upon reaching Deepak’s PG, he was informed by his roommates that he had last been seen there on September 11 at 11 AM. After an exhaustive search yielded no results. Chandulal filed a missing person’s complaint at the Mukherjee Nagar police station on September 14.

Deepak’s body was eventually found in the bushes near the coaching institute’s library. The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, and no suicide note has been discovered.

Chandulal has blamed the coaching institute for its failure to keep track of students. He expressed frustration over the institute’s lack of records regarding students’ in and out timings. He emphasized that the institute should have informed the family if Deepak had been absent from classes.
