In all 82 teachers from many states have been awarded the National Teachers’ Award 2024. The awards were given by President Draupadi Murmu to teachers who have made a wonderful contribution toward improving the quality of education and pupil performance.
The combination of district, state, and national checks had made the selection process quite demanding. These exemplary educators were selected for their commitment to innovative teaching, professional development, and student achievement.
The award includes a certificate of merit, a cash prize of Rs 50,000, and a silver medal. Additionally, the award winners will have an opportunity to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The 50 teachers selected represent a wide cross-section of States and Union Territories, as well as organizations. However, 34 of them are male and 16 female. 2 differently-abled persons also listed their names along with an individual who works for children the special needs.

- Madhya Pradesh: 3 teachers
- Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir, West Bengal: 2 teachers each
- Other states: 1 teacher each
The National Teachers’ Award 2024 is a symbol of the extraordinary impact that educators make upon India’s education system. The government has set out to reward and acknowledge the exemplary work done by teachers. It will incentivize future generations of educators consulting educationists in India to perform even better.
