PM Internship Scheme

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has started a trial run of the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme (PM Internship Scheme). The goal is to help young people in India by reducing unemployment. This big program plans to give internships to 1 crore young people over the next five years.

  • The Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) is closed on November 10, 2024.
  • 12-month program for young people aged 21-24.
  • Annual financial support of Rs 66,000.
  • Aim to reach 1 crore young people in 5 years.
  • Enrollment of 1.25 lakh candidates in FY 2024-25.
  • Estimated cost: Rs 800 crore.

Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS)

A 12-month government initiative to train 10 million young people (aged 21-24) through internships with leading companies. The main goal is to provide practical experience, skill development, and job opportunities.

Who Can Apply?

  • Indian citizen
  • Between 21 and 24 years old (by the application deadline)
  • Have finished higher secondary education or have a qualification like an ITI certificate, Polytechnic diploma, or degrees like BA, BSc, BCom, BCA, BBA, or BPharma.
  • Not currently studying full-time (except for online or distance learning)
  • Not working full-time

What’s on Offer?

  • 12-month internship openings at top companies all over India.
  • You’ll get a monthly allowance of Rs. 5,000: Rs. 4,500 from the government and Rs. 500 from the company’s charity (CSR)funds.
  • You’ll also get a one-time payment of Rs. 6,000 for extra costs.
  • Prime Minister Internship Scheme offers practical skills and hands-on experience in real-world business environments.

  • You can apply for up to five internship positions based on what you like (place, industry, job).
  • Make sure you have an Adhaar Card.
  • Track Your application

PM Internship Scheme: Insurance coverage

Each intern will be covered with insurance under two union government schemes with a premium amount covered by the government.

  • PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana
  • PM Suraksha Bima Yojana

The program is optional, and businesses with a good history of social responsibility are given preference. Some of the companies taking part include Adani, HP, Tata Steel, Cognizant, Vedanta, Lanco, Kotak, Microsoft, Pataka, Larsen & Toubro, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj Finance, Tech Mahindra, Alembic Pharmaceuticals, Max Life Insurance, and Eicher Motors.
