For safety reasons, after the flight landed, it was moved to a separate area, E-9, at the Mumbai airport. All passengers were asked to leave the plane, and their bags were checked. The plane itself was also carefully inspected. Dhananjay Gawde, a SpiceJet manager, told the police that the threat was found to be false.
Following Gawde’s report, the airport police filed a case against an unknown person using the X handle. The case was filed under certain sections of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita law.
On Tuesday, the Mumbai Police arrested a 17-year-old student from Chhattisgarh. He is suspected of posting a fake bomb threat message on X, using someone else’s name, which caused delays and changes in the routes of three international flights.
