The Aadhaar card is an important document in India. Children under 5 can also get a special Aadhaar card called Baal Aadhaar. It is linked to one parent’s Aadhaar and does not require the child’s fingerprints or photo scan.
Documents Required for Baal Aadhaar Card
- The child’s birth certificate or school ID
- Parent’s Aadhaar card
- Proof of identity (choose one)
- Passport
- Central or state government-issued photo ID
- ST, SC, or OBC certificate
- Disability certificate
- OCI card or foreign passport with residency proof
- Valid visa and foreign passport with residency proof
How to Apply?
- Visit the UIDAI website and book an appointment at an Aadhaar center.
- On your appointment day, the parent gives their fingerprints and Aadhaar details.
- Submit documents and application form.
- You will get Baal Aadhaar by post or download it online.
Important Points
- Baal Aadhaar is blue-colored.
- It becomes inactive when the child turns 5 and needs to be updated with fingerprints and photos.
