NEW DELHIThe Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has intensified its campaign against Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, announcing a June 6 protest at Jantar Mantar that will be joined by Ladakh-based activist Sonam Wangchuk and party founder Abhijeet Dipke. At a press conference held at the Constitution Club of India on June 3, CJP leaders said the demonstration would focus on alleged failures in the country’s examination system, including controversies surrounding NEET and CBSE. Party spokesperson Saurav Das said members would receive Dipke upon his arrival in Delhi before seeking final permission for the protest from authorities.

CJP’s first press conference drew national attention as the youth-led movement intensified its campaign over education and examination-related concerns.

We have given an open call. Anybody can join us without a party banner. We are ready to have a dialogue with everybody, be it those in power or the Opposition“, Das told reporters.

The group is demanding Pradhan’s resignation and has described recent administrative changes involving CBSE officials Rahul Singh and Himanshu Gupta as insufficient. “We are demanding accountability in the system. The transfers are being projected as action, but there’s a rot in the system“, Das said.

Dipke, who is pursuing higher studies in the United States, is expected to land in Delhi at 8 a.m. on June 6. His return comes as the social-media-driven movement attempts to convert its growing online support into a physical turnout on the streets of the capital.

Wangchuk, who confirmed his intention to join if no significant action is taken before June 5, urged supporters to maintain a peaceful approach. “No matter how much power the other side has, our biggest weapons are what Gandhiji taught us“, he said, reiterating his support for non-violent protest.

Activist Sonam Wangchuk has extended support to the June 6 protest, urging peaceful and non-violent public participation.

The party recently appointed three spokespersons: Saurav Das, Vijeta Dahiya and Ashutosh Ranka, as it expands its public campaign. Ranka, a former consultant and alumnus of IIT Kanpur and the London School of Economics, expressed confidence that authorities would permit the gathering at Jantar Mantar.

The protest comes amid continuing student frustration over examination management and recruitment concerns. While supporters view the June 6 event as a test of public accountability, critics argue the movement’s large online following has yet to prove itself through sustained ground-level mobilization.

Delhi Police had not publicly announced final permission arrangements for the demonstration at the time of publication.
