Lucknow: A 17-year-old IIT-JEE aspirant commits suicide in Lucknow by jumping from the eighth floor of a building on Saturday. The event happened around 7:30 AM when a security guard at Commerce House informed the Hazratganj Police Station.
The student, named Aditya from the Jankipuram area, was quickly taken to the civil hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. Initial reports suggest that Aditya used the emergency stairs to reach the top floor of Commerce House, where he attended coaching classes, before jumping.
Local officials are now looking at CCTV recordings from the building and have sent the body for an autopsy. The police have also reached out to Aditya’s family using his cellphone, which was found in a bag left behind.
