Accused of Molestation: Police took 35-year-old Abdul Washid, who is differently-abled, into custody on Sunday night. The reason for his arrest was accusations of misbehaving and molesting women. The police acted based on Section 151 of the Indian Penal Code (preventive arrest).
Self-Harm in Custody: On Monday morning, a shocking development unfolded. Washid reportedly used a sharp object he had in his bag to harm himself severely in the police station restroom.
Medical Treatment: Washid received immediate medical attention. He was rushed to a local hospital and then transferred to a specialized facility in Jodhpur for further treatment. Thankfully, his condition is reported to be stable.
