Bridge Collapses Plague Bihar: 7th Incident in 15 Days

A bridge over the Gandaki River in Bihar ‘s Siwan district collapsed on Wednesday morning, the seventh such incident in the state within the last 15 days.

The small bridge, located in the Deoria block, connects several villages to Mahrajganj. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far. However, this is the second bridge collapse in Siwan Bihar in just 11 days, following the collapse of a portion of a bridge in the Darounda area on June 22.

Deputy Development Commissioner Mukesh Kumar stated that the exact cause of the collapse is under investigation, and senior officials have already reached the site. According to initial information, the bridge was constructed in 1982-83, and repair work has been ongoing for the last few days.
