After a significant rise in recent months, gold and silver prices fall on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on Friday.

On MCX, 24-carat gold is trading at Rs 72,648, down by Rs 35 per 10 grams. The price of silver also fell by Rs 123 per kg to Rs 83,173. This comes after two months when gold prices rose by ₹11,000 per 10 grams.

Major City Prices

The price variations in significant cities are as follows:

  • Delhi: ₹74,490 (gold) and ₹86,500 (silver) per 10 gm/kg
  • Chennai: ₹75,160 (gold) and ₹90,000 (silver) per 10 g/kg
  • Mumbai: ₹74,340 (gold) and ₹86,500 (silver) per 10 g/kg
  • Kolkata: ₹74,340 (gold) and ₹86,500 (silver) per 10 g/kg

Global Market

Despite the fall on MCX, gold prices remained high in the international market due to the ongoing tension between Iran and Israel. Gold futures on COMEX rose marginally to $ 2,382.03 an ounce. Experts believe this geopolitical situation could boost investment in gold as a haven investment, potentially leading to further price increases in India.
