Jaipur, Rajasthan: An 18-year-old NEET aspirant, Yati Agarwal, tragically ended her life at her Vidyadhar Nagar residence on Friday. The shocking incident occurred just hours after celebrating her birthday.
According to the Vidyadhar Nagar police station house officer, Rakesh Khyaaliya, neighbors discovered Yati in a critical condition on Friday morning and immediately alerted the authorities. Despite being rushed to the hospital, she succumbed to her injuries.
A suicide note recovered from Yati’s notebook revealed her deep-seated anguish and regret. She expressed heartfelt apologies to her parents for failing to meet their expectations and for resorting to this drastic measure.
The police investigation suggests that Yati was grappling with severe depression following the announcement of the NEET exam results. The immense pressure to excel in the highly competitive medical entrance exam appears to have overwhelmed her.
This heartbreaking incident underscores the urgent need for mental health support and counseling for students facing academic pressures. It is crucial to create a supportive environment that prioritizes well-being over academic achievements.
