An industry-first partnership between the IIT Madras and IIT Ropar is offering students enrolled in the “BS(Computer Science & Engineering)” program at IITH BS. Data science and engineering design degree to earn a minor Diploma using their existing electives. No additional fee or academic load from this semester.
This strategic partnership will help to deliver critical hands-on learning experiences, research, and opportunities for graduate studies in the Maldives. IIT Madras and IIT Ropar partnership marks a milestone in the democratization of higher education. It provides opportunities to students from rural India who wish to pursue their dream of acquiring advanced degrees.
- Direct Admission to MS: The IITM BS (Data Science) students would have the option to directly enroll in a program towards an MS at another six new IITs without having a qualified GATE score
- Credit Transfer: If a student takes in-person courses at IIT Ropar and earns credits there. They can transfer those to their BS program credit requirement at IIT Madras.
- IITM BS students will also get to be part of research projects & internships guided by IIT Ropar faculty.
- IIT Ropar Courses: The students at IIT Madras will also be able to access the data science and programming courses. These are being offered in the BS programs of IIT Ropar.
