Jaipur, Rajasthan: The India Meteorological Department reported on Sunday that Rajasthan will experience a severe heatwave for the next two to three days. In Rajasthan, the highest temperature of 50 degrees Celsius has been recorded for the first time this summer. In the past 24 hours, Phalodi has recorded 50 degrees Celsius. - 47.2 degrees Celsius in Bikaner
- 47.0 degrees Celsius in Churu
- 46.9 degrees Celsius in Jodhpur
- 46.5 degrees Celsius in Ganganagar
- 46.3 degrees Celsius in Kota
- 43.8 degrees Celsius in Jaipur
The maximum temperature on Saturday, measured at 1730 IST, was so high that it was considered a severe heat wave in the majority of the divisions of Chhotapur, Bikaner, and Kota. Most locations in the Choipur district, as well as several locations in Udaipur and Bikaner, have reported warm evenings.
“Heatwave to severe heatwave conditions very likely in many parts of West Rajasthan, a few parts of Punjab, East Rajasthan, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, West Madhya Pradesh, and heatwave conditions very likely in isolated pockets of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Vidarbha on May 29, 2024,” the IMD also posted a heatwave alert for Rajasthan on its official X handle.
