Chaiti Chhath, which is also called Chaitra Chhath, Surya Shashti, or Dala Puja, is a Hindu festival that spans four days and is a tribute to the Sun God (Surya) and his wife, Usha, who is also known as Chhathi Maiya. This festival is a time for people to express their gratitude for the blessings these deities bestow. It’s primarily celebrated in Bihar, Jharkhand, the eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh, certain areas of Madhya Pradesh, and a few regions in Nepal.
In 2025, the celebration of Chaiti Chhath will take place from April 1st to April 4th. This festival signifies the start of the new harvest season and involves a variety of unique rituals that are carried out with profound devotion.
