IIM Kozhikode Achieves Record 51% Women Representation in MBA Programs

IIM Kozhikode (IIMK) has announced a significant achievement in gender diversity for its 2025–27 MBA cohorts. The institute has inducted 586 students into its full-time postgraduate programs. Notably, 51% of these students are women, marking the fourth time in a decade that female representation has exceeded male in its full-time MBA batches.

The flagship Post Graduate Programme (PGP) 2025–27 (PGP-29) batch comprises 489 students, with 55% being women. This figure stands out when compared to the national average of 36% women applicants for CAT 2024.

IIM Kozhikode ‘s new cohorts also show considerable MBA diversity

  • Academic Background: Around 53% of PGP-29 students are from non-engineering backgrounds.
  • Regional Representation: 35% of students are from Delhi, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh. Kerala accounts for 23 students.
  • International Students: Seven international students from Canada, the US, the UK, and the UAE have also joined.

The PGP-Fin 06 batch has 49 students, evenly split between engineering and non-engineering fields. Their average age is 25.43 years, with an average work experience of 2.51 years.

For the PGP-LSM 06 batch, 60% of its 48 students are women. An impressive 96% of these students come from non-engineering disciplines, showing a growing interest in interdisciplinary learning.

IIMK has welcomed its largest-ever doctoral-level FPM program intake, with 31 scholars joining the 2025 batch to pursue research in various management fields.

A week-long orientation program, including sessions with industry leaders and alumni, concluded recently. Regular classes for these new MBA cohorts will start on June 30.
