Professor Mohammad Shakeel was appointed the Officiating Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) university by the President of India, in her capacity as the Visitor of JMI. This appointment ensures continuity and strong leadership during the interim period until a permanent Vice-Chancellor is selected.
Professor Shakeel is a highly respected individual within JMI, having served the University with distinction for over 37 years. He is currently a senior professor in the Department of Civil Engineering. His impressive educational background includes a B.Tech. Is included. And M.Tech. from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and Ph.D. From Roorkee University.
Professor Shakeel’s extensive experience includes both teaching and research. He has held various administrative positions at JMI, including Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Controller of Examinations, Director of the Center for Distance and Online Education, and Head of the Department of Civil Engineering. His dedication extends to active participation in several university committees, reflecting his deep commitment to the academic and administrative progress of JMI.
