The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode has recently announced revisions to its admission criteria for the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management for the academic year 2025-26. This change will impact the weightage assigned to various components of the selection process for CAT 2024 aspirants.
IIM Kozhikode CAT 2024 Admission Criteria
- The most significant change is the increased weightage for Class 12 scores, which now account for 20% of the total score. This is a substantial increase from the previous year’s 15%.
- The weightage for Class 10 scores has been reduced to 15% from 25% in the previous year.
- The weightage for the CAT 2024 score remains unchanged at 35%.
IIM Kozhikode CAT 2024 Admission Criteria Three-Stage Selection Process:
- Shortlisting Based on CAT Score and Academic Performance
- Candidates with a valid CAT 2024 score and a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in their graduation degree (or equivalent) are eligible.
- Shortlisting will be based on a combination of CAT scores, Class 10, and Class 12 scores.
- Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI)
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in a WAT and PI round.
- WAT will assess writing skills and analytical abilities.
- PI will evaluate communication skills, personality, general awareness, and work experience.
- Final selection will be based on a weighted average of the following:
- CAT 2024 score
- WAT performance
- PI performance
- Resume score
By increasing the weightage of Class 12 scores, IIM Kozhikode aims to assess a candidate’s academic consistency and recent performance more comprehensively. This change is likely to benefit students who have consistently performed well in their recent academic years.
