Delhi: A massive protest broke out outside Drishti IAS Coaching Center in Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi following the tragedy. Death of three IAS aspirants in the flooded basement of another coaching center last Saturday. In a swift response, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) sealed the basements of seven coaching institutes, including Drishti IAS, for illegal operations.
The action targeted coaching centers in Old Rajinder Nagar and Mukherjee Nagar, which are famous hubs for IAS aspirants. A total of 20 basements were sealed for violating building norms and safety rules.
The incident has sparked anger among students, who are demanding strict rules for coaching centers. The MCD has also launched an anti-encroachment drive to clean storm drains, addressing the root cause of the flooding.
