Tripura Schools: E-Attendance System to Improve Education Quality

e-attendance system

Tripura is taking an important step towards modernizing its education system with the introduction of an e-attendance system for teachers and students in all 4,912 government schools. The initiative aims to increase transparency, efficiency, and the quality of education across the state.

  • This attendance system will allow real-time monitoring of teacher and student attendance by the Government of Tripura. This data will be available to the Chief Minister, concerned ministers, and senior officials, enabling them to track school performance.
  • The digital system aims to bring transparency to the educational system by providing accurate attendance records. This can help identify potential issues such as absenteeism and address them immediately.
  • Government schools are rolling out this attendance system within two years. To prepare, headmasters and relevant personnel are currently undergoing training sessions on the new digital platform.
  • Geo-Tagging to Follow: Following the e-attendance system’s implementation, the Tripura government plans to introduce a geo-tagging feature. This will ensure greater accountability and provide a more comprehensive online record of school activities.

The e-attendance system is aligned with the recently launched Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) in Tripura. Envisioned by the Union Education Ministry, the center uses AI and data analytics to improve educational outcomes. VSK will leverage the data collected through the e-attendance system for informed decision-making and targeted interventions.
