Be Weather Aware: Rain, Thunderstorms, and Heatwave Forecast for Various Regions

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued weather forecasts and warnings for several regions across the country

Rain and Thunderstorms

• Western Disturbance: Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand will see widespread light to moderate rain or snowfall with thunderstorms and lightning from April 29th to 30th.
• Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand: Hailstorms possible.
• Isolated heavy rainfall is expected in some areas on April 29th.
• Other Regions: Light rain with thunderstorms and gusty winds are likely over parts of East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura over the next few days.
• Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura may see heavy to very heavy rainfall in some areas between April 29th and May 3rd.

Heatwave and Warm Nights

• Heatwave to hit Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Rayalaseema, Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Konkan, and East Uttar Pradesh.
• Temperatures 4-8°C above normal are possible in some areas.
• Hot and humid nights are likely in parts of India.
