Many companies are being careful about hiring new people right now, and some companies are even laying off employees, the tech hub of Hyderabad is seeing a surprising jump in job postings for IT jobs. In fact, Hyderabad has the most new IT job openings in the entire country, even surpassing Bengaluru, which is known as India’s Silicon Valley.

Employment in the information technology (IT) industry increased significantly across tech centres between April 2023 and April 2024, according to a new analysis released on Friday.

Indeed, a job matching and hiring platform, reports that job listings in the IT industry have increased by 24% in Bengaluru and 41.5% in Hyderabad, indicating the growing significance of these cities as top locations for IT experts.

According to Sashi Kumar, Head of Sales at Indeed India, “Software and IT positions seem to be highly sought after, not just by those currently working in the field but also by individuals looking for new career opportunities.”

“IT positions are becoming more and more desirable despite the layoffs. The high level of interest in IT may also stem from the professions’ usual requirements of substantial training, experience, and skill specialization,” he continued.

In order to succeed in this employment market, job seekers need to concentrate on developing abilities that will set them apart in a crowded talent pool, according to Kumar.

In the meantime, a recent Indeed survey revealed that 54% of Indian workers anticipated a significant change in their roles over the next five years, and 95% of them said they were confident in their capacity to adjust.
