New Zealand ended its disappointing T20 World Cup on a high note with a dominant win over Papua New Guinea. They chased down the target of 79 with seven wickets and 46 balls in hand. This match has no impact on the World Cup as both teams are out of the World Cup. But this match will be remembered for the magical performance of New Zealand pace bowler Lockie Ferguson. This is the best bowling figure by any bowler in T20 World Cup history and Furguson became first cricketer to concede 0 runs in a T20 match. Trent Boult and Tim Southee also bowled amazingly, they both took 2 wickets.
While chasing New Zealand lost Fin Allen – 0 and Rachin Ravindra – 6 early but a small partnership between Conway- 35, Williamson – 18* and Mitchell – 19* helped them cross the line. Also, legendary left-arm fast bowler of New Zealand Trent Boult took retirement from T20 cricket.
