WhatsApp banned over 76 lakh accounts in India in February 2024, with 1,424,000 of these accounts being proactively banned. This action was taken in compliance with the IT Rules of 2021. The company received 16,618 complaint reports in February and took action on 22 of them. In January, WhatsApp had banned 6,728,000 accounts.
