India is developing its own high-speed trains exceeding 250 kmph, exceeding the current capabilities of Indian Railways. These trains will be built using the Vande Bharat platform as a base and manufactured by Integral Coach Factory in Chennai.
This initiative complements the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project that utilizes Japanese technology. The domestically produced trains will operate on newly announced north, south, and east corridors, promoting Indian technology and manufacturing.
