According to a Reuters report, India’s Food Safety Authority Authority (FSSAI) announced on Thursday that it has mandated testing and inspection of all businesses manufacturing spice mixes across the nation. FSSAI has taken this action as some international regulators have found contamination issues with two popular local brands in India.

The sale of three spice blends manufactured by MDH in India and Everest’s fish curry masala was banned in Hong Kong last month. The same Everest Spice Mix has been removed by Singapore due to excessive ethylene oxide levels. The spice, according to the Singapore Government, was unfit for human consumption. Long-term use of it increases the possibility of cancer.

Which are These Well-Known Indian Spice Brands?

MDH and Everest products are very popular Spice brands in India. Additionally, they export their goods to a few foreign nations in North America, Europe, and Asia.

However, the companies assure consumers that their products are safe. India has already ordered product testing for the two brands. In addition, U.S. and Australian food officials are investigating these spices.
