The court has extended the custody of Delhi’s Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, until April 23. Mr. Kejriwal was arrested on March 21 because of a liquor policy case.

The lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi, who is representing CM Kejriwal, said that Kejriwal was arrested to stop him from campaigning in the Lok Sabha elections. Singhvi urged the Supreme Court to have the next hearing of the case soon.

But the Supreme Court said the case could not be heard until April 29.
