FSSAI suspends the licenses of Fortune Dairy

A few days back a Mumbai-based doctor found a finger of a human that he had ordered online. Soon this news went viral and FSSAI started the investigation. Now after being found guilty, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) suspended the license of Fortune Dairy. Fortune Dairy is a third-party manufacturer of Yummo ice cream located in Indapur. A 26-year-old doctor from Malad found the finger in ice cream and filed a police complaint. Malad police registered a case under sections 272, 273 and 336 of the Indian Penal Code.

On the other hand, the owner of Fortune Dairy claimed that it was a conspiracy spread by their competitors to defame them. However, the suspension and report of FSSAI cleared all the doubts. Although further investigation is going on to find out the actual reasons. Similarly, a woman Deepa Devi in Noida found a centipede in her amul ice cream ordered online. These incidents raise concerns about the packaged food quality in India.
