Bournvita is to be Removed From the Health Drink Category, Ministry Issues Advisory

Bournvita is one of the most popular beverage brands trusted by lots of Indian mothers for their children. Recently, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry declared that Bournvita is not a healthy drink anymore.

In addition to Bourn Vita, the Ministry also asked the other similar products to remove the “Health Drink” tag.

This decision was taken after the suggestions of the National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR). According to this decision, these products won’t be able to define the specific meaning of “Health Drink. As a result, the FSSAI requests that the companies take corrective action to rectify all incorrect categorizations.
