The Supreme Court criticized Patanjali Ayurved and the Uttarakhand government for allegedly running misleading advertisements and failing to take action against them, respectively. The court warned of “serious consequences” if violations continued.

This follows a series of advertisements by Patanjali that made baseless claims about curing diseases like diabetes and arthritis. Despite a previous court order to stop such advertising, Patanjali continued the practice. The court also blamed the Uttarakhand government for not taking action against Patanjali despite its being headquartered in the state.
