The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has introduced new features for RuPay Credit Card holders on the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) platform. These include EMI options, credit account bill payments, installment payments, and limit management. Users can now apply for EMIs, pay bills, and manage credit limits through the UPI app. Issuers are required to enable these features by May 31, 2024, enhancing convenience and flexibility for credit card users.

How Users Benefit from the New Features

Cardholders can convert purchases into EMIs directly through UPI, making transactions smoother. They can also manage spending limits, track repayments, and handle bills without depending on multiple apps or platforms.

Role of Banks and Issuers

The RBI expects all issuing banks to integrate these facilities within the set timeline. This step will help more customers adopt digital credit payments and simplify their day-to-day financial management.
