Jaya Ekadashi 2025: Ekadashi fast has special significance in Hinduism. Ekadashi fast is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and there are 24 Ekadashis in the whole year. Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Magh month is called ‘Jaya Ekadashi’. It is considered extremely auspicious, as it is an Ekadashi that destroys sins and provides salvation.

What to do on Jaya Ekadashi? (Jaya Ekadashi 2025 Do’s)
- Wake up in the Brahma Muhurta on Jaya Ekadashi.
- Worship Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi.
- Follow the fast as per the prescribed method.
- Break the fast on Dwadashi tithi only.
- Make sure to include Tulsi leaves in the offering and worship.
- The fasting person should avoid sleeping during the day.
- On this day, sing bhajans, and kirtans and chant the Vedic mantras of Shri Hari.
What not to do on Jaya Ekadashi? (Jaya Ekadashi 2025 Don’ts)
- Do not consume tamasic things on this date.
- Do not use abusive language for anyone on this day.
- Don’t consume rice on this day even by mistake.
- Do not pluck Tulsi leaves on this day, because Mother Tulsi also observes a fast on this day.
- Therefore, break the Tulsi leaves and keep them ready for the puja a day in advance.
- Do not argue with anyone on this day.
- Keep the house thoroughly clean on this day.
- Do not consume non-vegetarian food on this day.
