Ganesh Visarjan is the final ritual of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival, where Ganesha’s idol is immersed in a body of water. This act is a symbolic farewell, marking the return of the deity to his home in Kailash. The immersion of the Bappa idol brought home on Ganesh Chaturthi can be done at your convenience. You can choose to immerse Ganesha on the same day, the next day, or even on the third, fifth, or seventh day. The most common day for immersion is Anant Chaturdashi. Things to Do for Ganesh Visarjan
- Before Ganesh Visarjan, Ganesh Ji is worshipped in a proper manner.
- Devotees offer modaks and fruits to the deity.
- You perform the Aarti of Lord Ganesha.
- They pray to Lord Ganesha for His leave.
- After the puja, take the idol of Ganapati Maharaj respectfully from the place of worship.
- After this, spread a pink or yellow cloth on the platform.
- Place the statue on a wooden plank.
- Along with the Ganesha idol, keep a bundle of fruits, flowers, clothes, and modaks.
- Put some coins along with rice, wheat, and dry fruits in a bundle.
- Keep that bundle with the Ganeshji idol.
- After this, immerse the idol of Ganeshji in some flowing water.
- Before immersing Ganpati, perform Aarti once again with your family.
- After Aarti, pray to Ganpati Bappa to come again next year.
