- More than 500,000 tourists and pilgrims are expected to join the festivities on Kartik Purnima, which is on November 27, 2023.
- In previous years, the number of visitors during the festival has been between 800,000 and 900,000.
- Around 1.2 million earthen lamps will be lit along the riverbanks. Out of these, 100,000 will be made from cow dung.
- There will be over 2.1 million lamps lit in different places.
- In 2023, Varanasi was named the best religious and tourist spot in Purvanchal. A total of 85.4 million tourists visited the city during the year.
