Stay Positive During Chhath Puja
During Chhath Puja, it’s important not to use harsh words or abusive language with someone who is fasting or their family. Try to avoid disagreements and fights with anyone. This helps keep a positive attitude.
- During the Chhath festival, everyone in the family, including the person fasting, should avoid eating onions and garlic.
- Make sure to keep everything very clean during Chhath Puja, and always wash your hands before touching anything used for worship.
- Women who are fasting for Chhath Maiya should not sleep in beds or cots for the entire four days. Instead, they should sleep on a cloth spread on the ground.
- It’s very important to offer Arghya to the Sun God, so don’t use silver, steel, or plastic utensils.
- When making the Prasad for Chhath, the person fasting should not eat anything themselves.
- Choose a place to prepare the Prasad where food hasn’t been cooked before.
- Wear clean and pure clothes. Wearing dirty clothes is considered inauspicious.
- If you’re fasting for Chhath Maiya, don’t eat anything before offering Arghya.
- People fasting for Chhath should stay away from meat and alcohol, or Maiya might get upset.
- Don’t eat fruits during the days of Chhath Puja. You can eat fruit only after the festival is over.
