The Ministry of Education has named 45 teachers from across India for the prestigious National Teachers’ Awards 2025. These awards will be presented on September 5, Teachers’ Day. This year’s recipients include 24 male and 21 female teachers. They were selected through a three-stage online process at the district, state, and national levels.
The teachers hail from 27 states, 7 union territories (UTs), and 6 national organizations. States with the highest number of awardees are:
- Uttar Pradesh: 2 awardees
- Bihar: 2 awardees
- Gujarat: 2 awardees
- Madhya Pradesh: 2 awardees
- Maharashtra: 2 awardees
Aim of the Awards
The National Teachers’ Awards recognize educators who have shown commitment and hard work. Their efforts have improved the quality of school education. The awards also celebrate teachers who have inspired students across the country.
The Ministry of Education holds a special ceremony every year on Teachers’ Day to honor these educators. For the 2025 awards, online nominations were open from June 23 to July 20, 2025.
