Mumbai University is taking action against the scam circulating fake mark sheets on social media platforms like Facebook. This scam offers fake marksheets for ₹10,000 to ₹12,000.
A Pune resident, who wished to remain anonymous, reported paying an advance for a B.Sc. mark sheet received via WhatsApp. The mark sheet contained inconsistencies, raising suspicion. The resident then alerted Mumbai University.
Dr. Pooja Raundale, head of the university’s examination and evaluation committee, urged students to be cautious and avoid such advertisements. The university clarified that the advertised degrees and mark sheets are fake. Mumbai University plans to file a cyber complaint against this fraudulent activity.
